Tulsa Transit is proud to announce a new initiative to show our unwavering support for the brave men and women who have served in the United States Armed Forces. Starting November 10th, in conjunction with the unveiling of a specially wrapped bus in honor of veterans at Tulsa’s Veterans Day Parade, veterans will be able to ride Tulsa Transit services for free indefinitely.
!! PLEASE NOTE: DENVER AVENUE STATION ATTENDANT WILL BE CLOSED ON NOVEMBER 10TH, 2023. PATRONS ARE ENCOURAGED TO DOWNLOAD THE GOPASS APP FOR TRIP PLANNING, WAY-FINDING, BUS TRACKING, AND TICKET PURCHASING.
The unveiling of the dedicated veterans’ bus will take place on November 10th during Tulsa’s Veterans Day Parade, a fitting tribute to those who have selflessly served our country. The bus’s design features patriotic symbols and serves as a tribute to veterans, demonstrating Tulsa Transit’s commitment to the community and those who have served.
To receive this benefit, veterans are required to show one of the following three variations of identification cards:
- A valid driver’s license with Veterans verification.
- Military I.D.
- Tulsa Transit’s Reduced Veteran Identification Card.
To book Lift or Micro Transit:
During the booking process, once you have made it to the “Payment” option you must then select “Veteran I.D.” Once your vehicle arrives, your driver will ask for verification with ONE of the I.D.’s listed above. If you are traveling with a companion, they must also show military verification of the approved types listed. If they do not have the identification, they will be requested to pay regular fare.
Tulsa Transit believes that this initiative is a small way to give back to those who have sacrificed so much for our nation.
This program is intended to be a permanent and ongoing benefit for veterans, offering them the freedom to travel throughout the city, connect with their communities, and access the services they need without the financial burden of transportation costs. Tulsa Transit is excited to provide this new opportunity to veterans in the Tulsa area.
